Ambrosia® Tuna

The Light Meat offering includes Light (typically Bonito and Skipjack), Yellowfin, and Tongol tuna, with Tongol and Yellowfin being considered premium Light Meat options. The most common and cost-effective Light Meat varieties are Bonito and Skipjack, making them the predominant choice for large-volume, value-driven programs.

White Meat tuna refers exclusively to Albacore because it has the lightest flesh (white with a hint of pink) among the tuna species. It is the most sought-after species, thanks to its mild flavor and bright, firm appearance.

All Ambrosia® tuna is packed in three primary styles: Solid, Chunk, and Flake — each offering different textures and value for various applications. Our tuna is known for our higher drained weights, which make us more competitive on a per-oz basis. Solid Pack features large, intact pieces of tuna, with at least 85% of the drained weight made up of solid chunks, the rest from flake. Chunk contains substantial pieces of tuna as well, with a minimum of 70% of the drained weight coming from chunk portions, the rest from flake. Flake is made up of smaller pieces and flakes of tuna; it blends more easily with other ingredients, perfect for tuna salad fillings, dips, spreads, sauces, casseroles, fillings, and other mixed applications.
